INTRODUCING THE E-1 DISEASE
Yes Covid-19 is devastating but there is a much more destructive disease that we don’t talk about, yet it’s invading our organizations and affecting our youth. It’s called E-1 • E-1 is an old disease that we never searched for a cure for so we decided to accept it. • The disease creeps up on the person, by the time he/she figures out they have it, they are already infected. • The dangers of E-1 lies in the fact that it’s destructive to people that have to have a relationship with the infected person. • There is no externally administered treatment or vaccine. • E-1 is addictive to the infected person so he/she feeds it constantly and becomes blind to it. • People who have E-1 look for relationships that feed their disease. • Infected people die alone, unhappy, carrying with them a lot of regrets. INTRODUCING THE EGO DISEASE | E-1 E-1 Symptoms As a leader, become aware of yourself so that you become immune to E-1, some symptoms to monitor: • You need to meet with someone and regardless of practicality you insist on them coming to you because you feel too important to go to them. • You need to call someone and your secretary is instructed to ensure that the person you want to talk to is placed on hold until you pick up the line. • You walk into a room and you feel so much more important than anyone around. • You listen to someone complaining and you’re not hearing a word they say, instead your preparing the response to show them that they are wrong. • You feel proud of the things that you managed to afford, the car, the house, the watch…contribution to a positive environment is not on this list. E-1 Preventive Measures Most important preventive measure is to detect E-1 in its early stages. • Create an organizational environment that encourages learning and contribution to a positive culture. • Create an addiction for learning and love inside your organizational environment. • Scan the world so that you recognize that there are people that know more than you and you can learn from. • Enjoy your success, but understand that “YOU” did not succeed alone, there was always someone that did something to help you get there. • The moment feelings of superiority creep up at you, wake up and don’t allow yourself to enjoy these feelings because they are not real, they are only the beginning of the disease. • Allow yourself to express love once, and you will never be the same again. I know leaders don’t express love because we’ve been brainwashed to thinking that love is weak and we need power in organizations that is an illusion! E-1 Treatment The only vaccine and treatment for E-1: • Love • Gratitude for feeling so much love • And all the amazing emotions that come with that like Innovation, Passion, Operational Excellence, Evolution It is our social duty to help the infected heal, this is what we need to stop doing: • Stop feeding their illness by making them feel more important than others. • Treat them with respect and love but demand the same from them, to accept working with them. • The more ego you see the more love you give them hoping that when they taste the love they will shift their addiction from ego to love. • Be patient with them, remember this is an illness.
